Dr. Strauss restores single crown implants, implant bridges and implant partials and dentures. He works with area specialist that place the implant below the bone. If you have implants that need restored, we can do so in a few appointments!
Dental implants are a long-term solution to replace missing or extracted teeth, while also preserving tooth-supporting bone that can deteriorate when a tooth is lost. There are three steps taken over the course of a few months to successfully place a dental implant.
- Install the implant
- Allow implant to heal and fuse to the bone
- Attach the final crown
Typically, a dental specialist such as a prosthodontist or oral and maxillofacial surgeon will install a dental implant. At Family and Cosmetic Dentistry, we are able to attach the final crown once your implant has been installed and has had time to heal.
The crown is created from a model of your teeth and can either be cemented or screwed to the abutment. Crowns are the final touch of a dental implant procedure since they work and look like your natural teeth. After the implant is successfully placed and healed, continuing to practice your dental hygiene routine of brushing and flossing daily is important.
